Ron Artest, he of the Palace brawl fame, is asking for a trade. While this would normally not be news, he had the following to say to the media when announcing his request:
    "I'm so demanding of the ball. It's not my fault," Artest told the Star. "Every time somebody is on me it's a mismatch. It messes up the offense. I like Coach [Carlisle] as a person, but I don't like playing for Coach. I like my team, though."

    "Don't get it twisted. He's a very good coach. He knows what he's doing. I personally don't like playing for him. I would not want to see him get fired for me after all the immaturity I've been through with this organization."


People wonder why the NBA is so awful to watch these days and here we have Artest illustrating almost all of the problems in two paragraphs. First, it's not his fault that he's demanding of the ball. What the hell? Of course it's his fault, he's the one doing it. And then secondly, he just doesn't think it would be right getting his coach fired because of his immaturity. Why don't you be a man and grow up then, instead of running to the media like a coward? The selfishness and immaturity of a majority of today's NBA players is astounding.
