It seems to be official now. My muse has gone on extended vacation and hasn't much interest in returning in the forseeable future. I'm not sure why this happened, or even when really. How does one convince one's muse to return from the south of France to Wylie? Probably with lots of hard work and discipline, two qualities I'm not sure I have to invest in this here online journal. Writing isn't easy and it takes practice. I don't remember the last time I actually practiced anything, much less writing. I guess I'll keep mulling it over, beats doing anything about it. |

In other news, I'm now a Wiggly Worm. Ahem. So many comments, so little time. 9:03:51 PM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

In the direct repudation of my latest comments on the improvement of the species leading to more boring and less funny Darwin awards, we have the case of the man in New Mexico who tried to burn a mouse, only to have the mouse exact his dying revenge by high tailing it into the man's house while burning to death and setting his drapes on fire, leading to the complete destruction of said house. Details can be found here. Thank goodness, my realistic (some say pessimistic) view of mankind is restored and I can write off this year's Darwin awards as an aberration. |

We live in an age where it is fairly common to think that everyone deserves everything, regardless of who or what we're talking about at the given moment in time. This is what's called "a sense of entitlement" and while it seems all neat and humanitarian of us to think such a thing, that doesn't make it true. Health care is usually the top item on the list of "She's got it so I should have it too" and many people think it should be up to the government to provide such a thing. I don't find that overly persuasive but I can at least understand where someone might be coming from if they did find it persuasive. All of this serious talk leads us up to a very serious topic that clearly doesn't get enough coverage in the MSM. I've often wondered what the logical conclusion of the age of entitlement would be but now I know. It would be governmental support for making sure handicapped people get fucked too. Because it's of paramount importance that all people are treated equally, prostitutes are paid with tax-payer money in the Netherlands to have sex with disabled people once a month. Let that sink in for a minute. And then, if you're at all like me, you wonder why the Danes are so heartlessly helping the disabled people and ignoring all the fat and ugly and stupid people. Clearly, the fat and ugly and stupid people should rise up en masse to challenge this hypocritical and bigoted law, demanding their fair (money) shot at free sex with prostitutes too. It's things like this that make it impossible for me to ever live in Europe. I have a hard enough time dealing with the insanity I run into at work. I would go on a killing spree if I lived in Europe and dealt with this. Except that I wouldn't have a gun. Because, while all people are entitled to everything, it doesn't mean self-determination. |

When people die, someone has to clean them up. This story details those companies that do it. It's a fascinating read. 11:03:01 PM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

Today marks 6 months since I've had a cigarette. I would have to say I'm pretty pleased with those results. 7:41:46 AM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

Breaking news: Pat Robertson is a moron. In other news, a feline-friendly dog will be honored at a cat show. |

Life has really been crazy lately and I just can't find the desire to do much writing. K is in a show in Mesquite which is taking up a ton of her time. She gets home at 11 most nights and we're both too tired to do much of anything. Last night, we moved our new sofa into the house from the garage at 11:45. We're going to Ohio this weekend for her grandmother's 90th birthday party. Her show goes up the week after that. So it will probably be mid-November before things possibly begin to settle down. 7:57:07 AM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |
