Three miles this morning on the roads, just under 25:30 which isn't a bad time but feels painfully slow. Cardio doesn't seem to be the problem, just complaining from my legs. I probably ought to find a race to train for around here, haven't run in one since the marathon almost two years ago. 7:36:43 AM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

4 miles this morning feeling pretty strong and definitely noticing a difference in the cardio function. 34:30 time which is definitely acceptable given the long layoff. Work is going to be a bear this week so I'll have to be running in the morning if at all. 7:41:26 AM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

Four miles this morning on a very pretty day. 35 minutes which is better than expected I suppose but still a little on the slow side. This is the first 4 miler that I've run this year so I should probably be happy. Overall, that's 1 yoga session and 7.5 miles this week. Not sure where the weeks go but 3 times a week really doesn't cut it for anything other than maintenance. 10:09:32 AM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

Exercise reports have been few and far between, mostly because I haven't been doing much. Yoga once a week and trying to run a couple of times a week. K and I got up and walked once this week for about 2 miles. Other than that, it has not been steady at all, haven't been to the gym at lunch in over a week. Definitely getting stronger thanks to the yoga but cardio is sucking wind, literally. Ran today for 24 minutes on a hard run here around Lakewood with lots of hills. Heart rate way too high for most of the run. 12:25:21 PM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

3 miles yesterday very slowly. Not sure if I just hadn't eaten correctly or if I went out too fast but I thought I was going to die at the 2 mile mark. Tonight went much better, 3 miles in 28 minutes which is still super slow but is a step up. Last week wasn't the best for exercising but this week is off to a good start. 8:18:20 PM permalink What do you think? [] trackback [] |

Workouts resumed today with 30 minutes of cardio at lunch and then yoga tonight which kicked my butt after the cardio. I think I'm getting stronger but all I want to do right now is curl up in the fetal position. Cardio is still awfully weak, 20 minutes of running at 7.1 MPH kept my heart rate at 155 or above which is too high. I'm thinking about getting back into swimming as well, just to try to get that down. Have to run and bike more than twice a week to really get any improvement. |

Worked out arms, chest and back yesterday which turns out to have been a bad idea since I went to yoga this evening. I'm going to be hurting tomorrow, much worse than I am right now. But I suppose that is the price you pay for being a lazy fat ass for 6 months or so. Tonight is 4 workouts in 4 days and it feels good. Looking forward to getting back into shape. The yoga studio I go to is called YogaSport, run by a friend of mine, and it's highly recommended. They are currently running a 10 days for $10 dollars special so get it while you can. It's a good way to lose weight, tone your body, strengthen your mind and focus your energies. |
