David Bernstein asks how it's possible to take the Democratic party seriously when they allow the likes of Al Sharpton to give a speech. I wondered the same thing when I heard that he was giving a speech. Was Kucinich not available? What about Braun? Either of these would have been preferable to a race-obsessed demagogue. The very fact that he was given equal time during the Democratic primaries and then allowed to stand on the center stage of the convention and spew forth tells me that it's unlikely the Democratic party is anywhere near a rebound in the near future.
